Bladder Infections, Utis, And Herbal Supplements

I don’t know of anyone who hasn’t had a bladder or a urinary tract infection. I’ll never forget my first UTI. Doubled over in pain, and the agony of trying to urinate without yielding any results. Then 5 minutes later, there you are, feeling the need to urinate again. After a trip to the doctor’s office, your put on pills, [or at least I was], that turns your urine brown.

Bladder infections are caused by the Ecoli bacteria. Ecoli normally lives in the intestines of humans and animals, where it helps break down food and makes it digestible.
But because of the makeup of the female body; having a short urethra, and it’s closeness to the vaginal and anal openings, this is where the bacteria can spread. Once inside the urinary tract, this bacteria sticks to the walls like glue. Then it begins it’s nasty work. This is why you should wipe from front to back after urinating. Make this a habit. And you’ll want to wear cotton underwear as well, because it breathes.

Once you have been diagnosed with having a bladder infection, or urinary tract infection, you will be put on antibiotics. If you’d like to try any herbal supplements; first speak with your doctor. Here are a few you may want to consider.

Cranberry: The juice makes the urine acidic which Ecoli doesn’t like, and also makes the bacteria unable to stick to the walls, causing it to get flushed out when you urinate. A little humor there!
If you choose the juice; pick a cranberry juice that is 100% cranberry.
Or, you can take cranberry in capsule form. I always keep a bottle handy.

Garlic w/ Echinacea: Garlic, this wonderful herb is not only an anti-viral, and anti-fungal, it is also an anti-bacterial. You can use this herb for so many things. You can even use it for Athlete’s Feet, if you don’t mind the odor.

Goldenrod: This herb is said to be one of the safest and most effective. This herb is a diuretic, and is considered a valuable remedy for UTI”s.
